Wealllookedupatthegloweringsky.Itcertainlydidlooklikerain.
"Okay."Ijumpedup. "I'mcoming."
"Itwasnicetoseeyouagain,"Jacobsaid,andIcouldtellhewastauntingMikejustabit.
"Itreallywas.NexttimeCharliecomesdowntoseeBilly,I'llcome,too,"Ipromised.
Hisgrinstretchedacrosshisface. "Thatwouldbecool."

Ipulledupmyhoodaswetrampedacrosstherockstowardtheparkinglot.Afewdropswerebeginningtofall,makingblackspotsonthestoneswheretheylanded.WhenwegottotheSuburbantheotherswerealreadyloadingeverythingbackin.IcrawledintothebackseatbyAngelaandTyler,announcingthatI'dalreadyhadmyturnintheshotgunposition.Angelajuststaredoutthewindowattheescalatingstorm,andLaurentwistedaroundinthemiddleseattooccupyTyler'sattention,soIcouldsimplylaymyheadbackontheseatandclosemyeyesandtryveryhardnottothink.
